Player of the Week  – Baseball - Levi Jones

The Lakers opened up conference season with a four game sweep of Clark State Community College. Levi Jones, a sophomore, was a huge part of the team’s success. Jones batted 10-for-14 (.714) with seven runs, three doubles, one home run, 12 RBI and four walks. With an aggressive offensive mindset Jones is now batting 36-for-58 (.529) this season with 19 runs, eight doubles, two home runs, and three stolen bases.

Lakeland is back at home Friday April 21 at 1:00 pm playing Edison Community College. Come support the Lakers, admission to the game is free!

 
 

Player of the Week  – Softball – Justine Barnes

This is the second time this season Barnes has earned Player of the Week honors. The standout freshmen shortstop is continuing to show impressive play. With a sweep of Clarke State, Kent State- Tuscarawas, and Grand Rapids, Barnes batted 15-for-28 (.536) with 14 runs, four doubles, four triples, three home runs, eight RBI, four walks, and four stolen bases over the last eight games.

Barnes is now battering 31-for-77 (.403) this year with 31 runs, 10 doubles, four triples, seven home runs, 28 RBI, nine walks, and 11 stolen bases.

The Lakers are back at home Friday April 21 playing Sinclair Community College. Come support the Lady Lakers, admission to the game is free!
