Lakeland breaks into NJCAA Division II top-20 men’s basketball rankings at No. 18

Lakeland men's basketball made its first appearance in the NJCAA Division II top-20 rankings as Lakers were ranked at No. 18 in a poll release Dec. 18.

Lakeland has shot out to an 11-2 overall record including a 2-1 record in Ohio Community College Athletic Conference play. The Lakers were just outside the rankings a week ago.

Lakeland received 25 points to earn the No. 18 national ranking. Other teams from Region XII in the rankings are Schoolcraft College (8-0) at No. 4, Mott Community College (10-0) at No. 5, Delta Community College (9-0) at No. 6 and St. Clair County Community College (11-1) at No. 13. Lakeland will next play at home on Saturday. Jan. 5 against Niagara County Community College at 3 p.m.
