The Lakers men's basketball team opened their season with a convincing 95-79 win over the International Sports Academy on Saturday at Laker gym. Tyreke Johnson pitched in with 16 points while Chris Richardson added 15 in the victory. Offensively, Lakeland shot 39% from the field (13-33) in the first half before having an efficient 50% shooting (16-32) performance in the second half. Lakeland shot 60% (12-20) from the free throw line on the night.
Bowe Bytes: "In general, I was pleased with our defensive effort tonight. We still have a long way to go, but it was a good start. Offensively, we had stretches where we played well but we were not as consistent as I would like as a whole. It's a good start and we are looking forward to getting back to work so that we can continue to improve. I've been pleased with our effort in practice so far - it was good to finally play."
