The Laker's mens basketball team traveled to Piqua, Ohio on Saturday to take on the Edison State Chargers and came away with a resounding 100-78 victory. With the win, the Lakers clinched the OCCAC title ouright as they improved their record to 20-7 overall and 10-2 in league play. The Chargers fell to 17-12 and 7-5. Lakeland jumped out to an early 11-2 lead and then never looked back as they coasted to the victory. In this game, Lakeland played strong defense and dominated the boards. Next up: The Lakers will receive a bye in the quarterfinals of the OCCAC tournament. They have already qualified for the a place in the final four which will take place later this week. Due to court complications, the location and times of the next round of games are currently undetermined. It is expected the location will be announced later Monday with the opponent and times announced late Tuesday or Wednesday (after the quarter final games are complete).
