Lakers kick season off with second place finish

The Lakers traveled to the Miami Whitewater Golf Club in Hamilton, Ohio this past weekend. It was a picture perfect weekend for the team as it was sunny and in the 70s both days. On Saturday, the low score for the Lakers was Victor Prokop as he shot a 76. He finished four shots back on the leader board for that day. Brian Irish was second on the team shooting a 77. Lakeland's team score for Day One was 322. Columbus State won the first day shooting 311 as a team.

Sunday, Freshman Dillon Boff shot a 78 and was the low score for Lakeland. Freshman Brian Oatridge and Sophomore Steve Dolan both shot a 79. Dolan was the national qualifier for Lakeland last year. The overall team score on Day Two was 316; again a second place finish. Columbus State won Day Two with a team score of 310.

The Lakers will play in the John Carroll University tournament Thursday (4/13) at the Hudson Country Club. They will tee off in the morning; times are still TBA. Lakeland will then return to tournament play Saturday and Sunday (4/15-16) as they travel to Bent Tree Golf Course in Sudbury, Ohio.
