The Lakers traveled to Shaker Heights Country Club for a 36 hole tournament Sunday, April 23 and Monday, April 24. The invitational is primarily a four-year college event as Lakeland is the only community college in attendance. Coach Cala states, "I look forward to the opportunity to play in this invitational every year. Our team looks forward to the challenge of playing against the four-year institutions."
Sunday, Lakeland was led by freshman Dylan Boff with a score of 80. Steve Dolan finished with an 81 for the Lakers. After day one, Lakeland was leading the invitational with a team score of 326. On day two, the Lakers were led by Victor Prokop with a score of 78. Brian Irish was second for the Lakers with an 82. The overall team score for both days was 665. The Baldwin Wallace A team won the invitational with a 649. The John Carroll A team finished in second place with a 658.
The Lakers will host the Lakeland tournament on April 30 and May 1 at Quail Hollow Country Club. Sunday's tee time is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday, they are scheduled to tee off at 9:30 a.m.
