BENTON HARBOR, Mich - The Lakeland Community College men's soccer fell to Lake Michigan 3-1 Sunday (Sept. 18).
The Red Hawks grabbed the early 1-0 lead as Alfredo Aviles scored an unassisted goal. The rest of the half was a defensive battle during which both teams had chances to score. Lake Michigan took their 1-0 advantage into the half.
Late in the second half the Lakers tied the game when Brendon Mullen (Mentor, Ohio / Mentor) scored his first colligate goal, to tie the game at one goal apiece. The Red Hawks responded with a pair of late goals by Gustavo Santana to give Lake Michigan a 3-1 win.
Lakeland will be back in action Wednesday (Sept. 21) when they host Lorain Community College with the game starting at 4 p.m.
