The Lakeland women's basketball team dropped a 91-30 decision to the #2 nationally ranked Owens Community College Express. Due to injury, the Lakers were down to five players for this contest. Though they did not get the outcome they desired, the team battled hard throughout and certainly gained respect from the crowd and their opponents. With the loss, the Lakers fall to 4-11 overall and 1-5 in league play. The Lady Lakers were again paced by sophomore Patricia Cistrunk 's 12 points and 12 rebounds. Freshman Alicia Sephus continued her strong play and added 12 points and 6 rebounds.
The Lady Lakers are on the road for the next week as they travel to Cuyahoga – Eastern campus – for a 1 p.m. start Saturday before going to Hocking College Feb. 1 in a 5:30 p.m. start. The Lakers next home game is scheduled Saturday, Feb. 4, when they welcome the Sinclair Community College Tartans in a 1 p.m. game. Admission is free to the game.
