Steve Sivik enters 2019 as his second season as head soccer coach for the Lakeland women's soccer program that begun at Lakeland in fall 2018.
In his first season as coach, Lakeland finished 4-10-2 overall and had three players named to the all NJCAA Region XII team. Maria Sill was named to the first team while Brooke Resse and Briana Paulett earned second team honors. In his first season as head coach, Sivik also had six players earned Ohio Community College Athletic Conference All-Academic honors.
Sivik was a former soccer player at Lakeland in 1995 and 1996 and helped take the Lakers to the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference championship in both years. He was named first team All-Region 12 in 1996 and Lakeland Defensive Player of the Year.
Before coaching at Lakeland, Sivik coached girl's soccer at Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin (NDCL) in Chardon for two seasons. In his second season at NDCL, Sivik coached the team to a 9-7-1 record after the team finished with a 2-12-2 in the season before Sivik showed up to coach the team. In both seasons under Sivik, NDCL earned the OSSCA All-Ohio Team Academic Award.
Prior to NDCL, Sivik coached boy's soccer at Mentor Christian High School in 2015 and coached the team to a finalist position in the BCSA Tournament. Prior to Mentor Christian, he coached Lake Catholic High School girl's soccer in 2014. Under Sivik, Lake Catholic was a regional finalist in 2014 and was named The News-Herald Coach of the Year. Prior to Lake Catholic, Sivik served as the assistant boy's soccer coach at Mentor High School from 2005-13.
Sivik was named to the Lakeland Men's Soccer All-20th Century team honoring the 22 best players in Lakeland history.
