Lakers volleyball loses heartbreaker to Sinclair
The Lakeland volleyball team played their final road game of the season; dropping a 3-0 decision to the Sinclair Tartans. The Lakers played a hard fought match with the play-off bound Tartans losing sets by the scores of 26-24, 25-22, and 25-22. With the loss, Lakeland's record falls to 5-19 and 3-13 in conference play. The match was reflective of how the season has gone for the Lakers - very competitive and strong play - but in the end, just fall a bit short. In addition to this close match, the Lakers have also lost 4 matches in 5 sets.  In this match, Abby Carlson played extremely well making several outstanding plays. Jessie Ceboll hit the ball extremely well in the middle while Abby Tuttle did an excellent job with middle blocking.

Miozzi Mentions: "The whole team played well and with great energy. Sinclair is a play-off team and we competed with them in each set. A couple mental mistakes hurt us and stopped us from being successful. I continue to be happy with their overall effort and attitude. We have showed throughout the season, even though the wins are not always there, that we can play with anyone."

Next up: The last match of the season will be on Tuesday, 10/29, at 6:30pm in Laker gym. The Lakers will play host to Community College of Beaver County. Tuesday will be sophomore night with the festivities starting at about 6:15. Admission is free.
