Lakeland’s Luis Padron and Hudson Widrig earn OCCAC player of the week honors

SPRINGFIELD, Ohio – It was a good week for Lakeland Athletics, taking home three of four OCCAC Athlete of the Week honors for March 26-April 1. While Lakers Luis Padron (Miami, Fla.), Kallista Hribar (Sturtevant, Wis.) and Hudson Widrig (Youngstown) earned conference recognition, so too did Allison Stack from Cuyahoga C.C. as this week's Softball Pitcher of the Week.

Baseball Position Player of the Week

Padron played a large role in both conference victories over Clark State, delivering a minimum of two hits, a double, RBI, run scored and stolen base in both contests. He batted .625 (5-8) with three RBI and three runs for the week. Slugged two doubles and a triple to go along with two swiped bags.

Baseball Pitcher of the Week

Widrig tossed a five-inning complete game as Lakeland run-ruled Clark State, 12-2, in the first of two OCCAC wins for the Lakers. He earned the 'W' with seven strikeouts, allowing two runs on six hits and no walks.

Lakeland will continue conference play with a doubleheader at Mercyhurst North East on Friday, April 6 beginning at 1 p.m.
