The Lakers baseball team played host to the Tri-C Triceratops today and dropped an 18-4 decision. The game started promising as the Lakers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning. Sam Tetley, Ryan Thomson, and Jacob Trevena all walked to load the bases. Later in the inning, Emmanuel Dominguez hit a 2-run single to give the Lakers the early lead. The score would remain until the top of the 3rd inning when Tri-C scored 6 runs. The Triceratops took advantage after the Lakers set them up with walks and a couple of errors. In the home half of the 3rd ining, Lakeland would score 2 more runs to make it 6-4. Jacob Trevena got is started when he was hit by a pitch. Josiah Cuesta followed with a double to put the runners on 2nd and 3rd. Trevena would later score on a fielder's choice hit by Emmanuel Dominguez. Cuesta later scored on a wild pitch. Unfortunately for the Lakers, that's as close as they'd get as they struggled to make the key plays in the field.

Emmanuel Dominguez had a hit and 3 RBI's while Jacob Trevena had a hit and scored 2 runs. Josiah Cuesta had a hit and scored a run while Cameron Huang-Ince added a hit in the loss. Ethan Duncan took the loss on the mound pitching 3.2 innings and allowing 12 runs (7 earned) on 6 hits. Anthony Barbosa relieved and pitched 1.1 innings allowing 6 runs (0 earned) on 3 hits.

Next Up: Cuyahoga and Lakeland will be back at it tomorrow when the Lakers play host to Tri-C in a 4:00 pm game.
