Lakeland Esports Week 2 Summary - October 7 - October 11

Lakeland Won 2-1 vs Jackson Community College
The Lakers beat Jackson in a best-of-three series winning the first and third game of the evening. Caden Gragg led the way with 34 eliminations throughout the series. The victory came down to a tie game at the end of the first match. Gragg was able to survive the longest and helped Lakeland win 2-1 on a tiebreaker.

Lakeland (Carmen Ningler-Farone) Lost 0-1 vs Guilford Tech
Lakeland's Ningler-Farone drew the first two matches in a best-of-three series 2-2 and 1-1. The match came down to the third game with Guilford Tech coming away with the win 2-0.

Lakeland (Till Oppermann) Lost 0-2 vs Kingsborough Community College
Lakeland (Till Oppermann) Won 2-0 vs Hudson County Community College
Lakeland's Opperman fell to Kingsborough 1-7 and 1-3. Oppermann rebounded, picking up a win against Hudson County in a rescheduled match 4-2 and 5-0.


Tuesday, October 8 6:00pm

Lakeland won 4-0 vs Terra State Community College
Lakeland's John Velliky beat Terra State 4-0 in a best-of-seven matchup. Velliky would win all games never falling behind on eliminations: 3-1, 3-1, 3-2, 3-2.

Lakeland Lost 0-2 vs Heartland Community College
Lakeland's Avery Bryant fell to Heartland 18-35 and 13-42 in two games. Bryant played a close first half in both matches, but costly turnovers in the second half opened the scoring opportunities for Heartland.

Lakeland (Caden Gragg) Won 4-0 vs Calhoun Community College
Lakeland's Gragg led all laps in the best-of-seven sweep vs Calhoun. This was Graggs first Mario Kart race of the season after his week 1 bye.

Lakeland (John Velliky) Lost 0-4 vs Kirtland Community College
Lakeland's Velliky faced Kirtland in his second race of the season. Kirtland won four races in the best-of-seven. Velliky is 1-1 on the season.
