Lakeland’s Marlon Landingham Named OCCAC Player of the Year; Suleiman Joins Him on First Team

Lakeland Community College guard Marlon Landingham has been named the 2025-26 Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC) Player of the Year, headline honors announced by the league office Thursday.

Landingham, who led the Lakers to a 21-7 overall record and a dominant 15-1 mark in conference play, was also a selection to the All-OCCAC First Team. He is joined on the First Team by teammate Jadallah Suleiman.

Landingham was a premier scoring threat this season, averaging 16.4 points per game overall. He was even more efficient against conference opponents, raising his scoring average to 17.9 points per game while shooting 42.3% from 3-point range. A versatile contributor, Landingham also averaged 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game.

Suleiman earned his First Team nod by averaging 16.2 points per game. His efficiency peaked during the conference schedule, where he shot 53.6% from the field and a team-high 48.7% from beyond the arc.

Other major conference awards included Edison State’s Kyle Vanover, who earned Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career. Owens Community College’s Gardayee Walker was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Terra State’s Ka’Elon Hurt was selected as Playmaker of the Year.
