The Lakeland men's soccer team had a dominating performance today against the Lorain County Commodores as they cruised to a 9-2 victory. After allowing an early goal on a corner kick, the Lakers would score the next 8 goals to earn the win. The Lakers outshot the Commodores 26-6 as they played a strong ball possession game. Abram Gutierrez led the way scoring a hat trick for the Lakers. Blais Gosse scored two goals while Christian Guerra, Francisco Veloz, Bryon Perez and Gael Briones each tallied a goal for the Lakers.
Coach Torres Talks: 'We again had a slow start and conceded the early goal, but that served as a catayst for our team to elevate our performance. We were able to equalize the game and then increase our intensity and control of the match. I was happy with our ability to respond to the early deficit and this demonstrates our ability to respond under pressure and maintain dominance throughout. We will continue to work and look to play well on a long road trip this weekend."
Next Up: The Lakers will travel to Alpena, MI on Saturday to face the Alpena Lumberjacks in Region 12 action. Kickoff is scheduled for 10:00am.
