The Lakeland soccer team traveled to Livonia, MI today to face the NJCAA's nationally ranked Schoolcraft Ocelots (17th in country). Unfortunately for the Lakers, the travel appeared to have caught up to them as they got off to a slow start and were never able to really get going. Lakeland fell behind 2-0 in the first 20 minutes and then started to look like they would battle back. However, the Ocelots put the pressure on and scored 3 goals in a 3 minute span to which the Lakers could not recover. The Ocelots would take a 6-0 lead at the break before winning by a final of 9-0.

Coach Torres Talk: "It was a hot day and after the long trip we just were not able to get going. We were a little slow-footed and were unable to keep pace. Credit Schoolcraft as they are a very good team. We will reflect on it and then get ready for Muskegon this weekend."

Next Up: The Lakers will play the final leg of this road swing on Saturday (9/13) when they travel back to Michigan to play the Muskegon Jayhawks. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 pm.
