The Lakeland men's soccer team finished it's long road slate with a 5-0 defeat to the hands of the Muskegon Jayhawks. The game was not indictive of the final score. Coach Torres commented, "We actually outplayed them I felt for most of the game. We dominated possession the whole first half and created numerous offensive chances - just couldn't find the back of the net. Getting a red card really shifted the momentum and then the penalty kicks were called. Tough one. We have to learn from this and make the adjustments for Wednesday. Give3 credit to Muskegon though - they are a good team." The two teams battled most of the first half with Muskegon scoring a goal at about the 28 minute mark. The score would remain 1-0 at the break. In the second half, the tide turned as the Lakers were whistled for fouls and cards. Trailing 2-0, the Jayhawks netted two penalty kick goals to put the game away.
