Following a competitive 2025-26 campaign, Lakeland Community College freshman forward Kanija Kimbrough has been recognized as one of the top players in the Great Lakes district with a selection to the NJCAA All-Region 12 Division II women’s basketball team.
Kimbrough was a dominant force in the paint for the Lakers throughout her debut season. She led the team in several key categories, including rebounding and defensive impact. Over 23 games, Kimbrough averaged a double-double with 12.9 points and a team-high 11.4 rebounds per game. She was also a central figure in Lakeland’s defense, recording team-highs in both blocks (32) and steals (90).
The Lakers finished the season with a 13-12 overall record and a winning 7-5 mark in the Ohio Community College Athletic Conference (OCCAC).
