The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Lorain County Community College today to face the Commodores in OCCAC action and came away with a 3-1 (25-22, 24-26, 25-16, 25-19) victory. The first two sets were back and forth games as both teams played good defense and were aggressive at the net. In the 3rd set, the Lakers really put it together. Taylor Williams-Stevens set the tone with her serves while the front line adjusted and started hitting the holes consistently at the net. As the Lakers picked up their play, they pulled away and were able to take games 3 and 4. Samantha Winter did an oustanding job setting while Williams-Stevens, Alyssa Lino, Isabella Schulz, and Sydney Park continued to play well at the net. Abby Karasek had a strong overall game while Zoe Babnik continues to lead the team defensively. Ashlen Horowski, Gianna Biondolillo, and Mikayla Polefko also came in and had solid efforts in the Lakers win.
Taylor Williams-Stevens led the way with 6 aces, 12 kills and 11 blocks. Sydney Park finished with a team high 15 kills while Samantha Winter finished with 24 assists. Alyssa Lino added 5 kills and 4 blocks while Isabella Schulz recorded 2 aces, 4 kills, and 4 digs. Abby Karasek picked up 3 aces, 4 kills, and a team high 25 digs while Zoe Babnik finished 14 digs and 4 assists.

Coach Watts' Word: "I was really pleased with the way we came on tonight. We played fine early, but really picked it up as the match wore on. Solid defense, strong serving, and solid net play - everyone contributed. I'm proud of the teams effort."
