Volleyball falls in heartbreaker

The Lakeland volleyball team traveled to Cuyahoga Community College tonight to play the Triceratops. For the second time this year, the Lakers dropped a hard-fought 3-2 (25-19, 25-23, 20-25, 14-25, 8-15) decision to the hosts. Tonight was particularly tough as the Lakers raced out to a 2-0 lead. Lakeland used strong net play mixed with good defense and passing to take the early lead. It was a strong team effort and it looked like the Lakers were poised to take the match. Unfortunately for Lakeland, they appeared to get a little too confident and took their foot off the pedal allowing the Triceratops to get back into the match. Once back in, Tri-C continued their momentum while Lakeland was unable to recover.
