The Lakeland men's basketball team traveled to Jamestown Community College tonight to face the Jayhawks in non-league action and fell by a score of 70-55. It was a tight game in the first half as the Lakers battled offensively, but struggled some with its ball control. As a team, Lakeland shot 44% from the field (12-27), but were 0-5 from the arc. Additionally the Lakers were just 6-11 from the line. The usually sure-handed Lakers also lost the turnover battle in the first half, 9-6. With all of that, they still trailed by only 2 points (32-30) at the break. Lakeland had 8 different players score in the first half and were paced by Isaiah McAdams (9 points and 5 rebounds) and Nathan Tadiello (6 points). Knowing they weren't playing their best basketball but were still right in the game, Lakeland liked it's chances of regaining its form and coming out strong in the second half. Unfortunately, the Lakers went cold in the second half shooting 30% (9/30) from the field and just 1-9 from the arc. With the offensive struggles that the Lakers endured, they were unable to maintain the pace needed in this loss.
Isaiah McAdams led the Lakers with a double double (15 points, 10 rebounds) while Nathan Tadiello finished with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Marlon Landingham picked up 8 points and 3 boards while Micah Blackmon finished with 6 points and 4 rebounds. Alikai Creque (4 points and 6 rebounds) and Chauncey Brashers (4 points and 5 rebounds) also had solid games for the Lakers. Juwan Turner chipped in 4 points in the Lakers loss.
Next Up: The Lakers will play host to the Oakland Owls on Saturday at 1:00 pm in Laker Gym.
