The Lakeland womens basketball team traveled to Niagara County today to face the Thunderwolves in non-league action. It was a tough day for the blue and gray as the Thunderwolves were able to take control using their height advantage for many second chance points. While the Lakers battled back in the second quarter, they ultimately were unable to overtake NCCC as the Thunderwolves heated up from the outside. The final score was 100-59. With the loss, the Lakers record falls to 12-9 overall (7-3 on OCCAC).

Joh'niqua Clay was the high scorer (20 points) for the Lakers while Monetta Hilory finished with 16 points (6-7 from the field), 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Coach Gardy's Gab: "Credit Niagara as they are a good team that played extremely well together. We got into some foul trouble and they took advantage. Tough trip, but we need to turn the page quickly as we have a big game coming up Wednesday."

Next Up:  The Lakers will head to TriC-East on Wednesday (2/18) to face the Triceratops in OCCAC action. Tip off is scheduled for 5:30 pm.
